Cloud-Based Device Management at Agency Scale

As remote operations became essential, a major city agency lacked a scalable system for managing its growing fleet of mobile devices. Existing processes were manual, decentralized, and could not provide real-time visibility into device status, assignment, or lifecycle across hundreds of field locations and administrative offices.

The agency needed a solution allowing site-level administrators to manage device assignments locally while maintaining centralized oversight and reporting.

RCI designed and implemented a comprehensive Mobile Device Management solution built on a cloud architecture. The platform was configured for scalability and included real-time reporting and tracking of mobile devices agency-wide. A key design decision was implementing a delegated administration model, enabling site-level administrators to manage devices in a decentralized fashion while maintaining central governance.

The team collaborated closely with agency stakeholders through agile sprints, delivering application source code, sprint retrospective memos, unit test scripts, and test results throughout the engagement.
